Cowboy Col knows that heavy metal was best before Bon Jovi broke worldwide and made it low cal, sanitised, and popular.  So I prefer the classic metal period up until about 1985. In this new post, I’m going to introduce you (or re introduce you to) some of the best HM bands from all over the globe whom you may not be overly familiar with, or you’d forgottten. First up is a band from Deutschland called Bullet. Bullet were a GREAT metal band of the traditional European style that formed back in 1978. Along with the Scorpions and Accept, they made up the Big 3 of German metal in the late 70s / early 80’s and it’s a pity they didn’t go on to greater success. They released their debut album, ‘Execution’ in 1982 , and followed it up with the classic and very underrated ‘No Mercy’ album from 1984.  This album contains the classic anthem, “I Sold My Soul to Rock ‘n’ Roll”. Check out the video for that here. Two of the members later found themselves as members of U.D.O in the late 80s. Crank it up!

Very insightful. Have you heard of the book “Rock And Roll Children, An Account of Heavy Metal in the 80s? I think you’ll like it.
